Completing Contract Services Training
Requirements Through Herc

As a pilot program to expand training options outside Los Angeles, Contract Services has partnered with Herc Rentals to provide eligible Local 600 Industry Professionals with access to Herc’s Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Safety Course for Boom and Scissor Lifts at select locations in New York and Georgia. While the pilot program is in effect, successful completion of Herc’s course will satisfy the Contract Services B – Boom Lift/Scissor Lift Operator Safety Course requirement.

If you’re required to complete the B course and would like to participate in this pilot program, you must meet the eligibility criteria and steps listed below.

How will I know if I am eligible?

To be eligible to take the Herc Rentals MEWP Safety Course as credit for the B Course, the following criteria must be met:

  • Your name must appear on the Industry Hub under a Local 600 Industry Experience Roster classification or a Non-Roster Digital Utility Person or a Digital Imagining Technician classification.
  • The B – Boom Lift/Scissor Lift Operator Safety Course must be a requirement for you that you have not yet completed.
  • Submit a completed application packet:
    • Part 1: Herc Training Application Form
    • Part 2: Honor Code
    • Part 3: Stipend Acknowledgement

How do I apply for the training?

To apply for the MEWP Training, complete and submit the application packet that has three parts including the 1. Herc Training Application Form, 2. the Honor Code form and 3. the Stipend Acknowledgement. You can access these forms using the link below.

Please download them and fill them out. Once you have completed all documents, please email them to preapproval@csatf.org. Contract Services will review your application to determine eligibility.

How will I know if I am approved to take the course?

If your application is approved, Contract Services will send you instructions for scheduling your training directly with Herc Rentals. The training must be completed before the expiration date indicated on the approval email.

What happens after I’m approved for and complete the Herc course?

After you complete the Herc MEWP Safety Training course, your Contract Services Portal will reflect that you have completed the B – Boom Lift/Scissor Lift Operator Safety Course requirement. If you have any questions about any step in this process, please contact us at 818.565.0550 ext. 1100.
